About WholeWell
WholeWell is a foundation framework for life !
That all sounds very grand and highfalutin, doesn’t it, as if WholeWell is the answer to life, the universe and everything, and how amazing are we for coming up with such an incredible thing. Well, no. That’s not possible. Wellbeing is too big, too complex for there to be just one overarching solution. Too many working parts.
WholeWell is a foundational cognitive system for wellbeing. It acts as a reflective regulatory platform for an individual’s personal discovery, awareness and balance of their whole wellness self.
WholeWell is a framework. It can be applied. It acts on a foundational level. But the elements within, and components all already exist, in all of us. And, quite often, they’re pretty fucked up (sorry, Mum). They are also, and it’s quite critical to understand this, interdependent.

WholeWell has come from a desperate want to try and make sense of everything. It’s come from lived experience, of trying to cope with a lot of ‘stuff’ in life, and frankly, not very well. When I say ‘stuff’ I mean pretty well everything: Diet, exercise, stress, job, health, emotions, time management, relationships, and so on.
I have made endless attempts to ‘start over’: Getting back in shape. Finding a new job. Changing my ‘attitude’ to life. Trying to be more positive, etc. I’ve listened to audiobooks and podcasts until my ears have bled. I’ve strained my eyes reading countless books and articles. I’ve tried to apply much of what I’ve learned, but largely have failed. It’s not been a weakness of will or lack of desire. It’s not been poor habits, either. Pretty well every time, my attempts at change have been sabotaged by circumstance. Hence WholeWell.

Wholewell came from a very dark time in my life. None of what I tried seemed to be able to lift me from what I felt was a battering pattern. It was, I’m sure, nothing any more than anyone else goes through in life, but I felt I just couldn’t hold anything. Whenever I tried to double down and examine life carefully, I was able to reach some kind of bottom level, a grounding where I could see everything around me, but it was everywhere, and swirling chaotically. I just couldn’t tie any of it down. A very sorcerer’s apprentice kind of thing.

Fundamentally, I felt I was missing structure. I felt I needed something basal, a framework I could cling to, and attach everything else to, as well.
A very long time ago, through a wise old scholar, I was tutored in ancient Greek civilisation and philosophy. I learned about the temple of Apollo, at Delphi, and that on the Frieze of that temple, an Oracle Temple, was inscribed the phrase “Know Thyself”.

It was explained to me that that phrase was considered fundamental, not just to the Seven Sages of Greece, in circa 5,000 BCE, but was carried onwards, central to the tenants of pretty well all of the great philosophers thereafter.
And that, dear seeker, is the fundamental root of WholeWell, a framework you can set down, from which, once you evaluate compartmentally, and understand, everything can begin to make sense.

We have built that structure. We have refined it, expanded it, examined it, and I’m pleased to say, wherever it’s been applied, so far, it has worked. It centres for people exactly as we’d hoped.
To be clear : WholeWell is about whole well awareness, understanding, and balance, for life.
WholeWell is not :
- A key to happiness (don’t aim for that).
- A psychology.
- A behavioural strategy.
- Wellness coaching.
- Life coaching
- Spirituality or religion.
WholeWell encompasses all of those things, but advocates specific focus in each area, supported by skilled professionals, as appropriate.
WholeWell is essential as a wholeistic foundation framework, the structure on which everything can make sense, and from which you can grow.
Enjoy.
